The Albemarle region was gearing up for one of its busiest weekends of the fall, with something for everyone across the area.
Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, includes multiple entertainment options. In Edenton, Boogie on Broad promised a free street party starting at 4 p.m., featuring the Taylor Theater’s 100th anniversary celebration with kids’ activities and movies, followed by live music and dancing downtown. For those seeking fine dining, the Inner Banks Inn offered an elegant 5-course farm-to-table dinner by candlelight. Meanwhile, crafters could create holiday garlands at The Local Current in Plymouth, and theater lovers had another chance to catch “Mamma Mia!” at Perquimans County High School, where over 40 students brought the ABBA musical to life.
Saturday morning, November 8th, brought the highly anticipated Elizabeth City State University Homecoming parade through downtown Elizabeth City at 9 a.m., with the football game and tailgate following from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nature enthusiasts could head to Bertie County Park for Explore the Outdoors Community Day, featuring guided kayaking, watercolor painting, camping basics, and drone demonstrations.
Foodies had plenty of choices: the Edenton Farmers Market opened at 9 a.m., the Roper Volunteer Fire Department hosted their 4th Annual Shrimp Boil fundraiser, and Capeharts Baptist Church served up their Annual Fish Fry to benefit Baptist Children’s Homes. Saturday evening offered another performance of “Mamma Mia!” at 2 p.m., comedian Al Ernst taking the Taylor Theater stage at 6 p.m., and a second night of the farm-to-table dinner at Inner Banks Inn.
