EDENTON — Two people have been arrested in connection with a shots-fired incident that occurred Friday near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Mosley Street, the Edenton Police Department announced Sunday.
And I’ll say it — good police work!
Zion Lamar Ferebee, 20, of Edenton, and Jazmyn D. Snipes, 19, of Sanford, were taken into custody Sunday in Lee County. Both are being held without bond.

Ferebee faces six charges: felon in possession of a firearm, discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle, discharge of a firearm within an enclosure, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, careless and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and discharging a firearm within city limits.
Snipes faces a single charge of felony aid and abet before and after the fact.
Police said no one was injured in the Friday incident and that only minor vehicle damage was reported. Authorities said there was never any ongoing threat to the public.
“We are grateful for the quick action that led to these arrests,” said Police Chief David LaFon. “This was an isolated incident, and with these individuals now in custody, we can reassure the community that the matter has been resolved. Gun violence will not be tolerated in Edenton.”
The department credited five agencies with assisting in the investigation: the Chowan County Sheriff’s Office, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Sanford Police Department, the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
