While no vote on Harbor Town is scheduled for the Feb. 10 meeting, the update gives Edenton Town Council members — and the public — a formal opportunity to hear where the project stands and what steps may be next.

The meeting also includes several action items that affect town finances, infrastructure, and representation on regional boards.

EDENTON — The Edenton Town Council will meet Tuesday evening with several items scheduled for action, including budget amendments, appointments, and infrastructure-related business. The agenda also includes a special presentation from Harbor Towns Inc., the nonprofit overseeing the regional ferry and tourism initiative.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 10 at council chambers, 504 S. Broad St. Public comment is scheduled earlier in the agenda.

Harbor Towns representatives are listed under Special Presentations and are expected to provide an update on current and proposed projects. The agenda does not indicate a vote on Harbor Town matters during this meeting.

Harbor Towns Update on the Agenda

The Harbor Towns presentation is expected to focus on project status and next steps.

Part of the update includes moving $250,000 in grant funds to Penelope Barker House repairs and Edenton Historical Commission wants and needs, which was not part of the project’s original scope. The move would be contingent on approval from the Office of State Budget and Management.

According to the agenda notes, the OSBM has “agreed that helping with repairs on the Penelope Barker House is an acceptable project for Harbor Towns funding.”

Items Scheduled for Council Action

In addition to the Harbor Towns update, council members are scheduled to consider and vote on several items, including:

• Approval of the consent agenda, which includes multiple budget amendments
• Appointments to boards and commissions, including the Northeastern Regional Airport Commission
• A request for a street-side handicap parking space in the 400 block of South Broad Street
• Authorization related to water system infrastructure, including a contract item tied to new well interconnections
• Approval of travel expenses related to a National Main Street conference

Council members will also receive routine reports from town management and departments.
