EDENTON — Edenton Tractor & Implement Company, a longtime farm equipment dealer on Virginia Road, will close its doors Oct. 31 after 75 years in business.
The White family announced the closure in a letter posted to the company’s Facebook page. The letter was addressed to “valued customers, friends, and community members.”
According to the letter, the business has been owned and operated by the White family for the past 50 years. The family thanked employees and customers, saying their loyalty and friendship “made our 75 year journey possible.”
“Although closing this chapter is bittersweet, we do so with tremendous appreciation for the many years of support you have given us,” the letter states. It is signed “The White Family.”
The letter does not say why the company is closing, what will happen to its employees or property, or whether customers’ service and parts needs will be transferred to another dealer.
The company is located at 517 Virginia Road in Edenton.
