Man sought in indecent exposure incident

Plymouth police are looking for a man recorded exposing himself in public at a laundromat last week, according to the Roanoke Beacon.

A patron at the Wash House, on U.S. 64, reported the incident to police after recording a man who entered the business about 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, wearing a ball cap and a bright orange shirt. Police said the man sat down at a table and unzipped his pants.

Cell phone video shows the man, and let’s say, since this is a family newspaper, performing an act of self-love, then fleeing when he was told police had been called. I guess when you got to get your freak on, maybe scout the place for video cameras, but then again, maybe you wanted someone to see you, dirty, dirty boy. LOL

Police said they reviewed Flock camera footage that appears to show the suspect driving west on U.S. 64 in a black Volkswagen Jetta. Police did not say if the man was listening to the Divinyls’ song “I Touch Myself” as he was speeding into the twilight zone.

Shamon Maurice Holder, 28, of Hertford, was charged with a felony count of assault by strangulation on Aug. 18. No bond specified

Christopher Eugene Hamilton, Jr., 35, of Edenton, was charged with first-degree trespassing on Aug. 22. Bond was set at $2,500.  

Thomas Earl Gordon, 66, of New York, was charged with felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 22. During that same time period, Gordon allegedly stole a water hose, valued at $137, from the Pro Sparkle carwash and a 24-ounce can of beer from the Speedway. Bond not specified 

Ralph’s NY Italian Pizza of Edenton reported that someone tried to pry open the restaurant’s back door between Aug. 18 and Aug. 18; caused $200 in damage to the door.  

Someone broke out a window at Dominion Power’s substation on  East Freemason between Aug. 12 and Aug. 20.

Tracy Newbill of Hertford was charged with child support on Aug. 24. Bond $480

Bryan Carson of Newlands was charged with damage to real property and possession of marijuana on Aug. 24. No bond/48-hour hold.

Bradley Gilliland of Hertford was charged with cyberstalking on Aug. 24. Bond $500 secured.

Walter Overton of Hertford was charged with communicating threats and assault by pointing a gun on Aug. 25. Criminal summons

Akima Archer of Hertford was charged with communicating threats and simple assault on Aug. 27. 48-hour hold

Plymouth woman indicted in son’s 2023 death

A Plymouth woman has been indicted in connection with the 2023 death of her 11-year-old son, according to the Roanoke Beacon.

Sheila Mason, 60, faces charges of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury and involuntary manslaughter following a grand jury indictment handed down this month.

According to the indictment, Mason failed to secure necessary medical treatment for her son, Tristan, 11, leading to his death on Dec. 15, 2023. Online court records provide no further details about the boy’s death or what treatment was not provided.
