GATES COUNTY — A head-on collision between two vehicles on US 32 South near Hobbsville sent four people to area hospitals early Monday morning, according to Gates County Emergency Management.
The crash was reported to the Perquimans-Gates 911 Center at approximately 12:23 a.m. Monday.
Five people were evaluated and treated at the scene. Four were transported to hospitals: one patient was taken to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Va., one to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and two to ECU Health Chowan Hospital. Names of those folks have not been released to the media.

Gates County Emergency Management thanked the responding agencies for their coordinated efforts in handling the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
