COLUMBIA — The Tyrrell County Library, through a grant courtesy of the Albemarle Commission Council of Governments, was able to obtain 25 Wi-Fi hotspots for residents of Tyrrell County.

I called patrons that had been on hold waiting for a hotspot for a long time. Everyone sounded extremely happy to have internet access to assist in their day-to-day life.

Life is becoming exceedingly difficult without access to Wi-Fi. Hotspots are most useful in assisting people in various ways, via creating resumes for employment, recipes, and online banking to name a few. As long as your library card is in good standings, you can check out a hotspot for 21 days.

Additionally, the Summer Library Program has begun! We have fun activities for every age. Check out our Facebook page for the latest programs.

We look forward to finding other ways to help patrons. Stop in and see what the library has to offer you!
