PLYMOUTH — A Plymouth man was killed and another seriously wounded in an early-morning shooting Thursday that also left an 8-month-old child injured, according to the Plymouth Police Department.
Officers responded to the 110 Latham Avenue area at approximately 1:34 a.m. after hearing multiple gunshots, as Washington County Communications simultaneously received several 911 calls reporting the incident, according to the Plymouth Police Department.
Arriving officers found Devonelle Brimage, 36, of Plymouth, unresponsive in a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. A second victim, Avione Linquad Webb, 38, was found in the rear seat of the same vehicle, also shot. An 8-month-old child was present in the vehicle at the time, according to PPD.
Washington County EMS responded and began life-saving measures, but Brimage was pronounced dead at the scene. Webb was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center and later transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for further treatment. The infant was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
The Plymouth Police Department is being assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Louis Banks thanked the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance during the initial response.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Plymouth Police Department at (252) 793-4680.

Prayers for the families involved.
