Here is a sampling of area arrests — from Edenton Police Department and Perquimans County Sheriff’s Office. Tip of the hat to law enforcement.

And as the Maine’s Bangor Police Department advises folks — Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people’s things alone, and be kind to one another.

Kelsey Blalock, 36, of Middlesbrough Lane, Edenton, was arrested on Nov. 21, 2025, on felony charged of attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. 

According to the incident report, Edenton Police arrived at a residence in Middlebrough Lane, Edenton around 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21, 2025, for a report of an assault.

The victim, Brooks Blalock, 42, of Middlesbrough Lane, Edenton, was stabbed with a knife and suffered severe lacerations.

While at the scene, officers seized two stainless steel kitchen knives with a white handle and blood on the blade, and a gray T-shirt that had blood on it.

No bond was set. Blalock was confined at the Albemarle District Jail.

Kyheim Privott, 25, of Blades Circle, Edenton, was arrested on Nov. 26, 2025, near the intersection of North Broad Street and Old Hertford Road, Edenton.

According to the incident report, Privott was stopped by officers around 1:02 p.m. Nov. 26, 2025.

Privott attempted to flee. During the chase, Privott’s 2014 Audi A7 damaged the mail box and post of a home at 1500 N. Broad St.

According to the report, officers seized a Glock 23, .40-caliber with extended magazine, 12.9 grams of opium, 4 grams of opium, 39 clear baggies, 1 rubber container, 1 pill bottle with white residue inside, 1 red lighter, 1 Nike bag and 1 clear baggie of rubber bands.

Privott was charged with fleeing or eluding arrest with a motor vehicle, a felony, and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving to endanger, resisting an officer, carrying concealed weapons, driving while license revoked, no liability insurance, fictitious registration plate, injury to real property, exceeding the posted speed limit and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Privott’s vehicle was impounded.

A secured bond of $100,000 was set. He was confined to the Chowan County Detention Center.

In other matters, Edenton Police investigated an incident in which a 79-year-old Edenton resident was scammed out of approximately $14,000.

According to the report, the incident was reported on Nov. 24, 2025 at the police department, 301 N. Oakum St., Edenton.

The suspect attempted to take money from the victim through deceit.

Edenton Police responded to a report of statutory rape of a 13-year-old on Nov. 28, 2025.

According to the report, the incident allegedly occurred on Chowan Court in Edenton.

The incident is still under investigation.

On Nov. 26, 2025, Justin Hollowa, 18, of Durham, was taken into custody on Virginia Road, Edenton.

According to the incident report, Edenton Police responded to a call at 3:21 a.m. Nov. 26, 2025, that the future site of the Chowan County ABC Store, 516 Virginia Road, had been broken into.

Hollowa was charged with breaking and entering and first-degree trespass, both misdemeanors. A secured bon of $2,000 was set. He was confined at the Chowan County Detention Center.

Edenton Police responded at 9:11 a.m. Nov. 19, 2025, to a residence on Tyler Lane, Edenton, for a report of a person being assaulted by strangulation. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Daphne Dillard, 49, of Oakum Street, Edenton, was arrested on Nov. 6 on North Broad Street, near Third Street. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and open container, both misdemeanors. An unsecured bond of $5,000 was set.

Sa’miya Privott, 18, of Gale Street, Edenton, was taken into custody on Gale Street. Privott was charged with simple affray, a misdemeanor. Simple affray is a type of assault and battery charge in North Carolina that is sometimes charged after a fight breaks out. However, this offense is different from simple assault and battery because it occurs in a public place and can cause an altercation to escalate into a larger and more serious one.An unsecured bond of $5,000 was set.

Edenton Police responded to a report at 8:09 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Duck Thru, 218 Virginia Road, Edenton. The suspect, an Edenton resident, took a bag of chips (value $4.38) without paying for them. The incident is still under investigation.

Edenton Police responded at 15:21 p.m. Dec. 3, 2025, report of damage to personal property on Tyler Run Apartments, 303 Old Hertford Road, Edenton. About $500 in damage was done to a 2000 Honda Accord.

Perquimans County Sheriff’s Office

Crystal Elliott, Harvey Point Road, Hertford, was arrested on Nov. 23, 2025, on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Elliott was placed in a 48-hour hold.

Christopher Walters, of New Hope Road, Hertford, was arrested on Nov. 23, 2025, on charges of communicating threats and cyberstalking. Walters was placed in a 48-hour hold.

Bonnie Myers, of Red Fox Run, Hertford, was arrested on Nov. 27, 2025, on a charge of second-degree trespassing. Myers was placed on a 48-hour hold.

Connor Copeland, of Happy Home Road, Tyner, was arrested on Dec. 1, 2025, on a charge of driving while impaired. No bond was set. He was released to his parents.

Brendon Matthews, of Wellfield Road, Elizabeth City, was arrested on Dec. 4, 2025, on a charge of carrying a concealed handgun. A $2,500, secured bond was set.
