MATTAMUSKEET, NC – Today, Saturday, Nov. 1, the Hyde County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Farm Days celebration at Mattamuskeet School Campus, promising a full day of entertainment, local vendors, and pageantry for the entire community.
Event Highlights
The Farm Days event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the day culminating in a spectacular fireworks display from 8:30 to 9:15 p.m.
Beauty Pageants Take Center Stage
One of the day’s main attractions is the series of pageants featuring young contestants from across Hyde County. The schedule includes:
- Little Miss (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) – Eight bright and talented contestants will compete: Lyla, Kalila, Libby, Palmer, Layla, Sophia, Kalani, and Lennon
- Young Miss (12:30 – 2:00 p.m.)
- Junior Miss (2:00 – 3:30 p.m.)
- Miss Hyde County (4:00 – 6:00 p.m.)
Baby Mr. & Miss will be announced during the Miss Hyde County judging at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Entertainment and Activities
Music lovers can enjoy live entertainment throughout the day, with DJ entertainment running all day long and the main event band performing from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
For thrill-seekers, carnival rides and games provided by DC Amusements will be available, along with a dunking booth (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) and spider jump activities.
Local Food and Vendors
Food enthusiasts can savor down-home cooking and fresh seafood from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The event features an extensive list of local vendors and community organizations, including:
- Mattamuskeet Senior Class (dunking booth)
- Mattamuskeet Beta Club (Farm Days Jail)
- A Triple C Farm Party (petting zoo)
- Beauty & Bliss
- North Creek Woodworks
- Keri Kreations
- Multiple local boutiques, craft vendors, and artisans
Community organizations such as Mattamuskeet School FFA, Community Schools, AG Carolina Farm Credit, and candidates for District Court Judge will also be present.
Admission
Entry to the event is just $5 general admission, with ride passes available for $20.
