PITT COUNTY — A Washington, NC, man was killed during an early morning collision in Pitt County on Aug. 29.

According to report, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal collision at 4:44 a.m. Aug. 29 in Pitt County on NC 102 near Madison Hardee Road. 

Patrick Alonzo Bell, 37, of Washington, was traveling east on NC 102 when his vehicle ran off the road to the right, struck a ditch culvert, overturned and came to an uncontrolled rest off the roadway.

Bell was unrestrained. He was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed, lane control and no restraint were the contributing factors, the report said.

Edenton Police

EDENTON — At 11:31 p.m. Aug. 25, Edenton Police responded to a report of a suspect throwing urine at a North Granville Street resident. April Geneva Walton, 45, of North Granville Street, Edenton was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Aug. 25 on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault/affray and resisting an officer. No bond was set.

In other matters, a Jackson Street resident was arrested on Aug. 8 after Edenton Police found illegal drugs and several weapons in the home.

According to the incident report, Eli Samuel Resnick, 29, was charged with felony charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute marijuana, maintain a vehicle, dwelling for the manufacturing or selling of drugs and possession of methamphetamine. A secured bond of $25,000 was set.

While at Resnick’s residence, police seized a .380-caliber Smith and Wasson handgun, a FN/509 handgun with vortex red sot and flashlight, Nirinco Poly/SKS semi-automatic rifle, Savage Arms 22 caliber bolt-action rifle, two loaded rifle magazines, three loaded handgun magazines, two handgun magazines, two SKS loaded magazines, one AR-15 metal magazine half-empty, one homemade suppressor, one mason jar containing 066 oz. of a green leafy substance, one white bag containing 1.19 ounces of a green leafy substance, one white bage containing 1.19 ounce of gren leafy substance, one plastic container with 0.40 ounces of a white powdery substance, 15 clear plastic capsules and caps, 1 digital scale, one marijuana vape, 1 multi-color ceramic pipe, and one paper containing stickers.

In a separate incident, a Sanford man was arrested by Edenton Police during a traffic stop near the intersection of North Broad Street and Park Avenue.

According to the report, police stopped a 2008 Ford F150 at 9:46 p.m. Aug. 6 near the intersection of North Broad Street and Park Avenue.

Oscar Antonio Villatoro, 25, of Sanford, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor charges of driving while license revoked, careless and reckless driving, resisting an officer and driving while intoxicated and carrying concealed weapons and a felony charge of fleeing and eluding arrest.

A Bersa SA CAL 380 ACP handgun was seized at the scene.

An unsecured bond of $55,000 was set. He was confined to the Chowan County Jail.

Other incidents:

At 3:30 p.m. Aug. 29, Edenton Police responded to the State Employees’ Credit Union, Mexico Road, of Edenton, to a report of a suspect using unauthorized checkes of $44.99, $39.95 and $41.27 to pay other companies.

Edenton Police arrested Vantrell Jonathan-Charles Harris, 25, of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Edenton, on misdemeanor charges of larceny and injury to personal property. An unsecured bond of $1,000 was set.

Edenton Police arrested Russell Lee Parker, 65, homeless, on Aug. 22 on a Bertie County warrant for a misdemeanor for a charge of domestic violence protection order violation. No bond was set. He was set at the Chowan County Jail.

Jude Meronvil, 43, of Paradise Road, of Edenton, was arrested on 12:15 a.m. Aug. 26, on a Pasquotank County warrant for a misdemeanor charge of assault on a female. No bond was set.

Edenton Police conducted a traffic stop at 4:27 p.m. Aug. 24 on Virginia Road. Jesse Wayne Holt, 32, of Macedonia Road, Edenton, was cited with driving a motor vehicle while driver’s license is suspended.

Edenton Police responded to a report of larceny of property on Aug. 24. Copper pipes and an antique chair worth $1,000 were taken from a Dickinson Street home.

Perquimans County Sheriff’s Office

Johnny Blalock, of 341 Suttons Landing Road, Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 22 on a charge of simple assault. No bond was set. He was placed on a 48-hour hold.

Monti Blalock, of 341 Suttons Landing Road, Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 22 and charged with assault by pointing a gun and simple assault. No bond was set. Blalock was placed on a 48-hour hold.

Judson Long, of 726 Pennsylvania Ave., Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 24 and charged with stalking. A written promise bond was set.

Jessica Prince, of 131 Bethel Fishing Center, Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 24 and charged with probation and court violations. A secured bond was set at $10,000.

Davina Archer, 322 W. Market St., Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 26, on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. An unsecured bond of $1,000 was set.

Brandon Halbrook, of 166 Shady Lane, Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 26, on charges of fictional/altering title, registration card of tag and driving while license restricted. A secured bond of $260 was set.

Cleophus Snowden, of 196 Winfall Blvd., Hertford, was arrested on Aug. 27 on a charge of failure to pay child support. A secured bond of $600 was set.

Amy Griswold, 586 Old US 17, Elizabeth City, was arrested on Aug. 28 on a charge of financial card fraud.

Lonny Taylor, 116 Hudson Trail, Hertford, was arrested Aug. 28 on charges of second-degree trespass.
