EDENTON – Edenton Police responded to several incidents recently, ranging from fights, breaking and entering, use of a home to make and sell illegal drugs, and more.
Edenton Police arrested Camilo Gutierrez Nicolas, of Apple Lane, Edenton, at 5:43 a.m. Aug. 3 on East Albemarle Street on a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer. His arrest stems from a fight in Halsey Village, East Albemarle Street, Edenton.
According to the incident report, around 3:39 a.m. Aug. 3, EPD received a call of individuals fighting in the street. Beside Nicolas, Charles Riddick Jr. of Greenhall Road, Edenton, and Alleke LeShawn White, of Albemarle Street, Edenton, were involved in the incident.
In other matters, at 9:16 a.m. Aug. 2, Edenton Police arrested Tamyra Hall, of Carteret Street, Edenton, on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault/affray.
According to the incident report, Hall attacked Heidy Melendez, of Granville Street, Edenton, with an Ozark Trail knife at the intersection of West Carteret and North Granville streets. Melendez received minor injuries to her face. A secured $2,000 bond was set for Hall.
- Ming Hing Hibachi reported receiving a fake $100 bill on July 30. The owners of the restaurant on North Broad Streetin Edenton identified the suspect as a resident of Creswell. The case is still active, according to the report.
- At 5:02 p.m. Aug. 5, Edenton Police responded to a report of indecent exposure at Kellogg’s Supply Company, West Queen Street, Edenton. A suspect has been identified in the case.
- At 5:56 a.m. Aug. 2, Edenton Police responded to a report of injury to personal property at the Chowan County Social Services/DSS building at 100 W. Freemason Circle. According to the report, a 14-year-old female damaged a Dell laptop computer, which has an estimated worth of $1,500.
- Eli Samuel Resnick, of Jackson Street, Edenton was arrested at 11 p.m. Aug. 9 on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine; knowingly keeping or maintaining any store, shop, warehouse, dwelling house, building, vehicle, boat, aircraft, or any place whatever, which is resorted to by persons using controlled substances for the purpose of using such substances; and manufacturing, selling or delivering, or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver, a controlled substance. A secured bond of $25,000 was set.
- At 8:30 p.m. July 25, Edenton Police responded to Tyler Lane for a report of felony child abuse. According to the report, a 10-year-old boy was pushed, grabbed and hit by another resident of Tyler Run. The case is still active, according to the report.
- Edenton Police responded to an incident at 1:56 a.m. Aug. 3 on East Albemarle Street, Edenton, in which Asac Daniel Pailin, of Tyler Lane, Edenton, was accused of driving a motor vehicle on a state road while “appreciably” impaired.
- At 11:32 a.m. Aug. 10, Edenton Police responded to an incident on Jackson Street in which a suspect damaged the tires of a vehicle belonging to a resident. The suspect is also accused of cyberstalking.
- At 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8, Edenton Police went to Old Hertford Road and arrested Wayne Ashley Vaughan on a Pasquotank County warrant for a misdemeanor charge of defrauding an innkeeper.
- At 8:29 p.m. Aug. 4, Edenton Police arrested Shalimar Bryanna Jernigan, of Old Hertford Road, Edenton, for two misdemeanor charges of simple assault and one misdemeanor charge of injury to personal property. The bond was a written promise.
- at 11:56 p.m. July 31, Edenton Police responded to a report of breaking and entering. According to the report, the suspect entered through the back door of a home on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Edenton, and took a PlayStation 5 Slim, worth approximately $550. Two individuals known to the victims have been identified as suspects.
- At 9:37 p.m. July 27, Edenton Police responded to a report of breaking and entering at a residence on North Oakum Street, Edenton. According to the report, a 32-inch TV (valued at $200), mini-refrigerator (valued at $200) and a Bluetooth speaker (valued at $80) were stolen. A suspect has been identified.
