ELIZABETH CITY – College of The Albemarle (COA) hosted its summer commencement ceremony on Tuesday, July 29, at 5:00 p.m. at COA – Elizabeth City. We celebrated 131 graduates earning 135 degrees and diplomas.
Dr. Jack Bagwell, COA President, delivered remarks, and Seth Boyd and
Wendra Costley were the student speakers for the ceremony.
Samantha Dick was awarded the President’s Service Cup for 2025. The President’s Service Cup is a graduating student’s most prestigious recognition at COA. It recognizes excellence in the classroom, those making significant contributions of service to the college, and
those who are active in student activities and their local community.
This year’s President’s Cup recipient exemplifies the spirit of leadership, service,
and excellence that defines College of The Albemarle. Graduating with associate
degrees in Arts, Science, and Engineering, Samantha has made a lasting impact both
on campus and in the community. She has welcomed future students at open houses,
improved operations and trained new employees at Corner Market Auctions, and
dedicated her time to youth ministry, Special Olympics, blood drives, and local animal
shelter initiatives. We are proud to recognize Samantha and congratulate her on
this outstanding accomplishment.
The recipients of COA’s Campus Cups were the President’s Service Cup Award
