Two academic calendar revisions — one for 2024-25 and another for 2025-26 — and a look at a Grades 7-9 Football Model are among the items expected to be discussed and voted on during Tuesday’s Edenton-Chowan Schools Board of Education meeting.

The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Professional Development Center. Visit the district’s Facebook page for information about call-in information.

The 2025-26 academic year calendar was approved during the January meeting. The calendar calls for teachers to start school on Aug. 15, 2025, while students would start on Aug. 25. The last day of students would be June 5, 2026.

According to the agenda, Chowan Middle School will be the featured school, with students leading the Pledge of Alliance and one of the school’s programs being discussed, according to the agenda.

Other items on the agenda include:

  • Motion and vote on the Auditor contract
  • Motion and vote on the R&R Lottery Fund Distribution Request
  • Motion and vote on a device refresh at John A. Holmes High School
  • A construction update and overview of the January 2025 financial report
  • Motion and vote on the consent agenda which includes approval of the Jan. 15, 2025, meeting minutes, personnel report and Centrix proposal for HVAC system.
