EDENTON-CHOWAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

Brooke Rich

The Edenton-Chowan Educational Foundation is excited to announce that Brooke Rich has been contracted to be its new executive director.

In her new role, Rich will be responsible for uncovering educational needs in Chowan County and working with the Foundation Board in managing resources to meet those needs.

A resident of Chowan County and mother of two students in Edenton-Chowan Public Schools, Rich is well known in the community from her days as a pharmacist at Walgreens. For the past several years, Brooke has been a dedicated volunteer at White Oak and D.F. Walker, working directly with students and sitting on the School Improvement Team.

At a recent gathering of members of the ECEF, Board of Education, and school administrators, Chairman Dr. Todd Korbusieski welcomed Brooke and expressed the air of excitement she brings to the Foundation. “We are thrilled to welcome Brooke as the new Executive Director of the ECEF. Her expertise, passion, and connection to the community will be instrumental in advancing the foundation and shaping its future.”

Michele Newsome, Director of Elementary Education for Edenton-Chowan Public Schools, responded to the news with delight, “Mrs. Rich has been an invaluable member of our school community for several years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and support for students, teachers, and families. Her contributions at Team WOW include serving as a volunteer, actively participating on the School Improvement Team, engaging in the calendar committee, and providing tutoring to students. She has played a vital role in fostering a positive school culture. Always seeking new ways to support our schools, Mrs. Rich is a passionate advocate for both students and educators. Her leadership and commitment has made a meaningful difference in our school. We are fortunate to have her serving in this new capacity with the ECEF.”
