Several hundreds of Edenton and Chowan County residents and visitors lined both sides of Broad Street in Edenton on Saturday, Dec. 14, for the annual Christmas Parade.

The parade, sponsored by the Edenton-Chowan Chamber of Commerce, lasted about an hour and featured tractors, floats and bands from throughout Northeastern North Carolina.
Each parade entry stopped by the courthouse to be judged by an expert panel of judges. The winners best expressed the theme “Tinsel and Teapots.” The float winners were The Cupola House Association, first place; Countyside Church of Christ, second place; and Sir Paul Kothe, third place.
The Chamber thanked Santa for visiting town and two Public Works employees who dressed as the Grinch and Max and served as the “Poop Patrol.”
Below are photos of the parade entries, separated by categories. All photos were taken by Nicole Layton.
