Nov. 13

Hope Annette Skidmore, 38, no address provided, and Christopher Earl Elliott Jr., 30, of Tyner, were taken into custody at 6:41 p.m.

Skidmore was charged with one felony count each of Financial Transaction Card Fraud and Identity Theft and two felony counts of Attempt to Obtain Property under False Pretenses. No bond was set and she was confined to the Albemarle District Jail.

Elliott was changed with two felony counts of Attempt to Obtain Property under False Pretenses and one felony county of identity theft. Secured bond was set at $30,000 and he was confined to the Chowan County Detention Center.

The charges stem from a breaking-and-entering incident that was reported on Nov. 12 on the 900 block of Cabarrus Street. Skidmore and Elliott are accused of breaking into a residence and stealing several items, including a credit card and $200 in cash.

Nov. 26

At 2:40 p.m., the staff at Speedway, 301 Virginia Road, reported that a pair of jumper cables had been stolen and a glass window at the Pro Sparkle car wash had been broken. The incident remains under investigation.

Nov. 27

Anthony Charles Enslin, 29, of Edenton, was taken into custody at 4:48 p.m. on misdemeanor charges of communicating threats and cyberstalking. No bond was set and he was confined to the Chowan Jail.
