Work is continuing on the new John A. Holmes High School, located on Broad Street in Edenton.

Insulation on most of the outer walls has been completed on the front of the building. In the back, new facilities are starting to take shape.
The foundation of the historic Scout Hut, which was moved from Broad Street to Park Avenue, has been set.
The project has a maximum set budget of $82,442,450, according to the district’s website. It is funded with a combination of state and federal grants totaling $85 million.
The design firm is LS3P, while MB Kahn is the general contractor.
