STAFF REPORT
Art galleries throughout region are holding exciting activities.

Chowan Arts Council
EDENTON — The Chowan Arts Council opened its “Sugar and Spice” exhibit — featuring nine talented female artists — on Oct. 5.
The artists in the multimedia exhibit included Catherine Agraz, Nora Crouch, Annie Cummins, Sandi Griffin, Kris Iden, Margaret Benton Jones, Jaquelin Perry, Stacy Smith and Clair Waters.
Artists from other female artists were on display as part of the regular exhibit.
During the opening reception, artworks by Susan Birckhead, Margaret Benton-Jones and Richard Heiser were auctioned by raffle. Proceeds benefitted the Melissa P. Fields Scholarship Fund. Fields, a longtime educator, was a supporter of the regional arts community.
The Chowan Arts Council, at 112 W. Water St., Edenton, will host a featured artist reception with Fen Rascoe from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7.
