SUMMARY:Sons of the Revolution
DESCRIPTION:The topic will be  “American Revolution\, Religious War?” and our speaker will be  Dr. Joel Iliff. Dr. Iliff teaches Southern history and Great Books at the Regent University Honors College\, where he also serves as Director of Classical Christian Education. A graduate of the University of South Carolina\, Yale\, and Baylor\, he has published articles and reviews in the American Historical Review\, the Journal of Church and State\, the Journal of Ecclesiastical History\, and the Journal of the Civil War Era. His new book\, The Great Communion of Scholars: Evangelical Southerners and the Birth of Modern Intellectual Authority\, will be published by LSU this summer. Dr. Iliff resides in Edenton with his wife\, Laura\, and their three red-headed daughters. \nThe menu will be buffet style and seconds are welcome\, with: \n\nBBQ\nChicken\nFish or Shrimp\n3 to 4 sides\nHush puppies\n\nAlso\, a portrait of the US Flag circa 1940s\, will be raffled off to help finance the chapter’s future activities – tickets will be $5.
